ᚺᚨᚢᚷᛒᚢᛁ
“Haugbúi.” The ghosts of England are endless, full of tens of thousands of phantoms of murdered men, women, and children crying out for justice and vengeance. The ghosts of the Viking petty kingdoms are worse, as numerous as the Briton ghost but more intelligent, more malicious, and more life-hating. These ghosts, the wraiths, are the souls of the murderers of the innocent, sent from Hel by its mistress to ruin Miðgarðr. Wraiths suck the life from small plants as they pass; animals flee from them; most people hang the gods’ icons on their doors and lock them when they hear a wraith has come around. In some cases, a wraith is successful in killing, and in doing so creates hlaupar which it commands.
Some wraiths were bound by certain powerful heiðr to accompany the invasion of England.
Wraiths are incorporeal, dark, and hazy versions of themselves in life.

ACTIONS
Life Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft, one creature. Hit: 21 (4d8+3) necrotic damage. The target must succeed on a DC 14 CON saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
Create Hlaupr. The wraith targets a humanoid within 10 feet of it that has been dead for no longer than 1 minute and died violently. The target’s body rises as a hlaupr. The hlaupr is under the wraith’s control. The wraith can have no more than seven hlaupr under its control at one time.
MOTIVES
Wraiths obey their mistress Hel’s orders, which are to destroy life on Miðgarðr.
ALLIES
Wraiths work with other undead, necromancers, and heiðr.
