ᚠᛚᛃᚲᚨ
“Gaast.” The British Isles are haunted. The blood and spirits of a hundred thousand murdered men, women, and children roam the land, crying out for justice—and, in certain places and at certain times, doing more than crying out. In some locations, and on certain nights, the ghosts of the hundred thousand Britons, slaughtered by the Angles, the Saxons, and the Jutes when they invaded England, make their anger known and take their due vengeance.
Of course, the Briton dead are not happy to see their land invaded again by the Vikings—but the Vikings are killing the murderers of the Britons, which leaves many ghosts in a conflicted state. Some ghosts aid the invaders, while others do nothing and watch, satisfied, as the ranks of the undead swell with the spirits of murdered Angelcynn.
The ghosts of the Briton dead appear as they did when they dead, complete with their mortal wounds. They are suffused with a bluish-white light.

Incorporeal Movement. A ghost can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 6 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
Innate Spellcasting. A ghost’s innate spellcasting ability is CHA (spell save DC 13, spell attack bonus +5). A ghost can innately cast the following spells:
- At-will: invisibility, mage hand, thaumaturg
- 1/day: slow
ACTIONS
Withering Touch. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft, one target. Hit: 17 (4d6+3) necrotic damage.
Horrifying Visage. Each living creature within 60 feet of the ghost that can see its face must succeed on a DC 13 CHA saving throw or gain the frightened condition for 1 minute. If the save fails by 5 or more, the target also ages 1d4x10 years. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the frightened condition on itself on a success. If the target’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the target is immune to this ghost’s Horrifying Visage for the next 24 hours.
The aging effect can be reversed with a greater restoration spell, but only within 24 hours of it occurring.
