The devil from Argstow (known to Latin-speaking church officials on the Continent as “diaboli ab inferno”) is an infernal creature whose divinely appointed mission is to torment the poor unfortunates trapped in Argstow. It does this well, but on rare occasions it is summoned from Argstow to Earth by a sufficiently powerful being, nearly always to spread evil, misery, and woe among innocents. The summoners who bring the devil from Argstow to Earth are usually powerful enough to force obedience from the devil and force it to torment the innocent as well as the guilty.
Devils from Argstow are creepy a.f. animal-humanoid hybrids that usually have most if not all of an animal’s body but which nonetheless stand, move, and fight upright.

Flaming Weapons. The devil from Argstow’s spear attacks are magical fire and deal and extra 14 (3d8) fire damage on a hit (already incorporated into the attacks).
Hard to Hit (3/day). When the devil from Argstow is hit by a melee weapon attack, it can change that hit to a miss.
Innate Spellcasting. A devil from Argstow’s spellcasting ability is CHA (spell save DC 16, spell attack bonus +8). It can innately cast the following spells:
- At-will: flame arrow, produce flame, overheat
- 3/day: blur, fly, scorching ray, wall of fire
- 1/day: control other, fireball, burst into flame, manacles of flame
Magic Resistance. The devil from Argstow rolls with advantage on saving throws against 1st-5th level spells and magic effects.
Parry (1/round). As a reaction, the devil from Argstow adds +4 to its AC against one melee weapon attack that would hit it. To do so, the devil from Argstow must see the attacker and be wielding its long spear.

Multiattack. The devil from Argstow makes three fiery long spear attacks.
Fiery Long Spear. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft, one target. Hit: 9 (1d8+4) piercing damage plus 14 (3d8) fire damage.

Devils from Argstow have a primary motive, given to them by Scucca or God, nobody knows for certain: spread evil, misery, torment, and woe among innocent mortals. The devils do so obediently.
