ᛒᛟᚷᛚᛖ
A fae creature known under various names across Northumbria and points north, the bogle is arguably unique among the fae because of their neutrality toward humanity. The bogle does not taunt, tease, trick, and trap just any human being; they only go after the guilty, the murderer, and the mansworn, and torment them until they publicly confess their sins.
The bogle has no basic, core shape that any mortal knows; it is a shapeshifter that often appears in the form of an animal, cats being particularly popular.

Innate Spellcasting. A boggart’s innate spellcasting ability is CHA (spell save DC 13, spell attack bonus +5). They can innately cast the following spells:
- At-will: blunt blade, brighten flame, charm person, prestidigitation, sleep, taunt

Iron Anathema. A bogle rolls with disadvantage on all actions taken while touching iron.
Bogles have disadvantage on saving throws involving iron and on any spells they cast against someone wearing iron armor or wearing an iron holy symbol.
When a bogle takes damage from an iron or steel weapon they gain the distracted condition (from the pain) until the end of their next turn.
Shapechange (at-will). Once per round as an action a bogle may polymorph into any animal of CR 3 or below. The bogle can stay in their new form for up to 24 hours and gain the physical abilities of their new form. They retain their fae abilities and vulnerabilities.
ACTIONS
Stone Knife. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft, one target. Hit: 6 (1d6+2) slashing damage.
MOTIVES
The bogles are unlike other fae in that the bogles hate only a portion of humanity—those who have committed cardinal sins or other grave acts against their fellow humans. Against such people, the bogles will use every one of their powers to make the guilty human confess their sins and crimes in front of other humans. This drive for justice and moral vengeance is practically unique among the fae and does not make the other fae like or trust the bogles.
ALLIES
Bogles work alone, or, if they must, in the company of other justice-minded folk—never in the company of other fae (with the exception of certain ælfes).
